The Zimbabwe Network for Health (ZimHealth), a non-profit organization bringing together Zimbabweans and friends around the world, joins the Zimbabwean family at home and abroad in the fight against the growing threat of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Millions of people around the world are facing the threat of COVID-19, with healthcare workers in particular playing a leading role in the global response effort. Zimbabwe’s fragile health sector is particularly at risk, and requires the joint efforts of all of us to minimise the impact of this deadly pandemic.

ZimHealth is joining the national response and we are calling on the support of all our members and friends to help in supporting our frontline health workers with personal protective equipment (PPE), oxygen concentrators and masks, and cleaning supplies (sanitizer and soap). We have initially identified a number of facilities that require additional support: Chinhoyi Town Council, Kadoma Town Council, Karanda Mission Hospital, Kwekwe Town Council, Rusape Town Council and Mberengwa Rural District Council.

About ZimHealth

The Zimbabwe Network for Health (ZimHealth) is a non-governmental, non-profit association, registered in Geneva and established by Zimbabweans living in Europe to mobilise financial, material and human resources to support health services in Zimbabwe. ZimHealth unites Zimbabweans and friends of Zimbabwe from all walks of life to support rehabilitation of primary, secondary and tertiary public health facilities by utilising a partnership and team based, transparent and highly targeted project support system.

One of the founders of ZimHealth, Dr Francis Ndowa, in Harare at the opening of Tariro House, one of ZimHealth’s 2019 projects.

The Zimbabwe Network for Health (ZimHealth) seeks to raise funds to procure and distribute m edicines, diagnostics, vaccines and other commodities to rehabilitate the health facilities in Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe’s once robust health-care services have declined in recent years, exacerbated by the AIDS epidemic, a serious economic crisis and the considerable exodus of skilled personnel including doctors and nurses.
